The high-resolution false-colored image of Oguzer, Russia was produced by fusing the 60-meter resolution multispectral false-color image taken by Diwata-1 SMI on August 23, 2016, with the 15-meter resolution panchromatic image captured by Landsat 8 OLI on August 10, 2016. With this multi-sensor image fusion performed using the Gram-Schmidt Pan-sharpening technique, the spatial resolution of SMI was increased fourfold. Image pan-sharpening is important for better visualization and improved image classification.
